Mics Uncut S3E5 proudly introduces Peoria Native, King Khancept. Not only has King Khancept opened for celebrities from T-Pain to Ashanti and made appearances on respected platforms such as the Greg & Dan Show but he’s also the first hip hop artist to perform at a sold-out Apollo Theater in Peoria. King Khancept talks the importance of self-confidence, relationships and politicking as well as, the enjoyment which can only come from living your truth as he refuses to endorse violence, drugs and other stereotypical themes in his lyrics. King Khancept prides himself on crossing over genres; incorporating rock and county, as well as, using his platform to expose others to the evolution of music. Check out his documentary, Krooked, along with the EP for more on this artist, his process and of course the message: “It’s easy to get up. It’s harder to stay down.”
